Treat with factor as instructed by the treatment center

Do the exercises as taught by the Physical Therapist

  • Strong muscles mean fewer bleeds
  • Flexibility means less accidents during everyday activities

Make good food choices

  • Eat a variety of foods in a variety of colors

Get enough sleep

Brush and floss teeth everyday

  • Don’t be afraid to brush
  • Use a small soft toothbrush
  • Follow up with the dentist every 6-12 months or instructed
  • Eating a healthy diet is also good for teeth

Always wear seatbelts

Keep shots up to date

  • If having a shot into your muscle, treat with factor first as instructed
  • Ask if there is another way to get the medicine or vaccine
  • Press down firmly after a shot
  • Ice areas that start to swell – continue to monitor in case factor must be given

Wear a medical alert bracelet, necklace or anklet

Use common sense when choosing sports. Wear protective gear designed for the sport.
